Win An Exclusive Antipodes Skincare Set

Antipodes is one of my favourite skincare brands. Not just because its organic products feel and smell amazing on my skin, but because they provide amazing results. This is actually what makes Antipodes different from other natural and organic skincare brands; its products have been scientifically proven to give outstanding results, particularly in anti-ageing. Every Antipodes product is tested in a controlled laboratory, with a small fraction of the final product being placed on human skin cells to closely monitor its effects. My favourite product, the Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream, has been found to boost collagen production by up to 92%. What's more, Antipodes use a large number of ingredients native to New Zealand in its products, including manuka honey, mamaku black fern, kawakawa and Waiwera water.

My other favourite Antipodes products include the Aura Manuka Honey Face Mask, Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone-Correcting Serum, Divine Face Oil and Joyful Hand & Body Cream. To be honest there is not one product I dislike. I love this brand so much, that I have teamed up with Antipodes to offer one of you the chance to win a gorgeous skincare set worth over £250.00!

The exclusive set contains a Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser, Aura Manuka Honey Mask, Apostle Skin-Brightening & Tone-Correcting Serum, Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream, Manuka Skin-Brightening Light Day Cream, Manuka Skin-Brightening Eye Cream, Saviour Skin Balm and Joyful Hand & Body Cream.

The Beauty Myth: Toothpaste Removes Pimples

False...ish. Some toothpastes can reduce the size of a pimple, as they contain ingredients such as menthol and alcohol that dry the skin and draw out impurities. However using toothpaste will not kill the bacteria causing the problem or prevent future acne. Furthermore, the very ingredients that help reduce the size of pimples, can also cause irritation, dry the skin and encourage acne...

The Beauty Myth: Shaving Makes Hair Grow Back Thicker

False. Shaving hair does not alter its width, thickness or colour. The reason this rumour continues to circulate is down to the fact that hair is much wider at the base than it is at the tip. When you shave, the base of the hair will grow out first, making the 'new' hair appear thicker. However when the hair grows back fully, it will look exactly the same as it did before! This myth is just complete...

Weekly Worship: Windle & Moodie, Healgel and Korres

About a year ago I stumbled across a haircare brand in Liberty called Windle & Moodie. I'd call the experience love at first sight.... after all, I'm sucker for good branding. However after trialing the brand's Light Shine spray for the last few weeks it's clear Windle & Moodie isn't just style over substance. It is one quality haircare brand...

Win: Hayo'u Beauty + Wellness Products

Hayo'u is a new wellness brand designed to help you tackle your toxic stress levels, as well as make you look younger, feel stronger and become more energised. Can I get a yas kween?!

At the heart of Hayo'u is the brand's amazing wellness programme. Distilled from the 7,000 year old wisdom of Classical Chinese Medicine, the programme works alongside Western Medicine, creating self-care rituals designed to make fighting the effects of stress an effortless, enjoyable part of an at-home health and well-being regime. The best thing about these self-care rituals is that they are free! A visit to will provide you all the stress-busting resources and tutorials you need to feel better.

To support the self-health benefits of the Hayo'u programme, the brand recently released a range of beauty and wellbeing products that I've become obsessed with.

My favourite products in the range are the Bathe-Rite De-Stress Bath Minerals, Treat-Rite De-Stress Body Oil, Treat-Rite De-Stress Face Oil and Beauty Restorer. The Bath Minerals and De-Stress Body Oil make for the perfect pampering duo, as they help to soothe and nourish the skin, as well as calm the mind! However the Beauty Restorer and Treat-Rite De-Stress Face Oil have more of a fix-your-face focus.

Formulated with vitamin E, sweet almond oil, karanja oil and calendula, the Treat-Rite De-Stress Face Oil deeply moisturises the skin, whilst combating oxidative stress and UV radiation damage. The lightweight oil is also the perfect skin saviour, treating skin conditions (eczema, acne and psoriasis etc.), correcting pigmentation and repairing dry and flaky skin. However as skin-benefiting as the Treat-Rite De-Stress Face Oil is, the real power player is the Beauty Restorer. This simple (but gorgeous!), self-treatment tool is based on an ancient Chinese Medicine technique called Gua Sha. To activate the Beauty Restorer's beauty benefits, you simply rub and scrape the tool (don't be scared!) across the face in an upward motion. Doing this promotes lymphatic drainage which helps reduce toxicity and congestion. It also enhances nutrient supply and draws out tension!

Now I love the new Hayo'u product range so much, that I'm offering one of you lucky bitches the change to win all four of my favourite products (worth £150)!! To get involved, simply enter via Rafflecopter...

The Prize:
  • Bathe-Rite De-Stress Bath Minerals

The Tuesday Tip: Lipstick Before Liner

Smashbox-Always-Sharp-Lip-Liner -Nude-Light-Review

When it comes to applying lipstick, the standard rule is that lip liner should come first. Most girls apply liner before lipstick to help them see and trace the natural line of their lips. However this doesn't necessarily make the lipstick look better, it just helps with application. So I like to break the rules and apply my liner last. Imma bad bitch after all...

The Palette Power Players

I never used to go wild for makeup palettes. For me, they were more style over substance - containing just one or two colours that were actually wearable. And, over the last few months, I've discovered a few palettes I've become obsessed with...

Weekly Worship: Look Good Feel Better Brushes

Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is an international cancer support charity that provides free services for women suffering from the visible side effects from cancer treatment. It's fucking amazing.

Being diagnosed with cancer is heartbreaking and frightening and, if that isn't enough, treatment - as vital as it is - often causes visible side effects that can seriously affect a patient's self-esteem and confidence. Look Good Feel Better recognised this less-talked-about issue and, as a result, began improving the self-esteem and quality of life of those undergoing treatment for cancer.

Boosting Beauty Sleep

Sleeping is one of my favourite past times and I know, for sure, I'm not alone. Like me, you probably get excited about coming home from work and sleeping before you've even left your bed in the morning.

The best thing about sleep - aside from how fucking great it feels - is that it does wonders for your skin and hair. So this concept of 'beauty sleep' isn't some fairytale bullshit girls, it's the real deal. Skin has increased mitosis during sleep and mitosis is a cell process that renews and repairs the skin. Blood flow is also boosted by the body while you sleep, helping to give you a healthy and radiant complexion. This boosted blood flow also helps the hair, as it supplies the hair follicles with nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

Weekly Worship: Nair Hair Removal

Whether you're into waxing, plucking or lazering it off, I'm sure you'll agree that unwanted hair has to go. I'm a shaving kind-of-girl because it's quick, easy and cheap. I'd love to get into waxing but - speaking honestly - I'm too scared...eek.

The Tuesday Tip: Cleansing With Olive Oil

Cleansing With Olive Oil

Olive oil, the humble kitchen necessity, has so many health benefits that I would bore you to death if I listed them all.

However, when it comes to skincare, olive oil has one standout benefit...its ability to cleanse. It can remove makeup ad impurities just as well as any other expensive cleanser and it is cheap AF and easily available. Olive oil is also completely natural, so it will not irritate the skin or strip it of natural oils...

Review: Cloud Nine Wide Iron

As ya'll know, I've never been one to do too much to my hair. I love using interesting products to help maintain - and improve - hair health (shampoos, conditions, treatments, the usual BS etc.) but as for styling, it's either down au naturale or up in a messy top knot. Part of the reason being that my hair is fine and doesn't have a hope in hell of ever holding a hair style. However I recently used my friend's straighteners whilst prepping for a wedding. They gave me a smooth, shiny and more put together look which I became a little obsessed with.

So a few weeks later, after dreaming of my beautiful hair experience a few too many times, I got my hands on a pair of Cloud Nine Wide Iron straighteners and I have officially fallen in love...

Ingredients 101: Retinol

WTF: Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A and is considered to be one of the key ingredients in the fight against ageing.

Retinol is actually a weaker form of tretinoin (aka retinoic acid); the acid form of vitamin A. Tretinoin is highly effective at treating acne and acute promyelocytic leukaemia. It has also been used as a powerful treatment for skin aging. Tretinoin is so powerful that it is only available on prescription. However, its excellent skin benefits lead scientist to create retinol, a lighter, less aggressive form of tretinoin that can be used in over-the-counter beauty products.
