With so many beauty products launching on a weekly basis, it's easy to forget the hero products that have been keeping women sickening for as long as 100 years. So I'm here to show some respect to my favourite beauty OGs...

Must Have Face Masks

I love a good face mask. They perk up your skin (and your spirit) and help treat any imperfections in time for a holiday, date or big event. I've been on a mask mission for the past couple of months, trying a wide range of different product, with a variety of price points and skin promises. Here are my current favourites...

Laying The Right Foundations

achieving-the-right-makeup-foundations

When it comes to applying makeup, my main focus is creating the kind of skin that looks like it's been snatched from the face of a porcelain doll.

A solid skincare routine and quality products are the best starting point, of course. However there are many other products I depend on to keep my foundation flawless and imma lay them out for you...

The Palette Power Players

Urban-Decay-XX-Vice-Ltd-Reloaded-Palette-Review

I never used to go wild for makeup palettes. For me, they were more style over substance - containing just one or two colours that were actually wearable. However over the past few years beauty brands have been creating the kind of palettes that have me hitting pan on every shade. And, over the last few months, I've discovered a few palettes I've become obsessed with...

Urban Decay Slay

If there is one brand that really understands the mantra 'Go Hard or Go Home', it is Urban Decay and the beauty giant's latest launch embodies it. Urban Decay has created a new lipstick range called Vice. But we're not talking about a six, or even 12, shade collection...there are 100 of the motherfuckers and every one of them is to die for. Oh and did I mention that ultimate bad bitch Ruby Rose fronts the ad campaign?!

The Lookbook: AW16 Goes Nude

AW16-LFW-Makeup-Beauty-Trends-Nude-Natural-Dewy

London Fashion Week is over, so it's time to take a breath, calm the fuck down and reminisce on the makeup trends that had us hooked. Glitter was the focus at Burberry and Charlotte Olympia, bold berry lips at Anya Hindmarch and Giles and blue eyes at Jonathan Saunders (yeh, blue eyeliner is back sis...get used to it). However, of all the looks that covered the catwalks, I only had eyes for nude...

Review: Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Firebird

Urban-Decay-and-Gwen-Stefani-Firebird-Review-Swatch

The Colour: Fuchsia pink

The Price: £16.00 / $18.00 3ml

The Stockist: urbandecay.co.uk / urbandecay.com

The Application: Firebird applies effortlessly and evenly - with no dragging - and is so highly pigmented that one layer is enough to achieve the desired shade. The colour is semi-opaque, however if you double-up on layers, you can completely block out your natural lip colour. Firebird feels smooth on the lips, thanks to its creamy texture and, like all UD lipsticks, it is free of scent and taste.

Christmas Gifts For The Girls

Elie-Saab-Le-Parfum-Review-Christmas

Christmas is fast approaching, so there isn't much time left to get gifting! Luckily I've been compiling some of the best presents to gift us girls to this year...

Starting with the gorgeous Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau de Parfum 50ml (£58.00 Boots). Featuring top notes of orange blossom, middle notes of jasmine and base notes of white honey, cedar, rose and patchouli, this fragrance is floral, feminine and intoxicating. It also packs a lot of power, so it is not a scent for the subtle girls; it is strong and intense and lasts for hours. Elie Saab Le Parfum is a classic fragrance that deserves a spot on any girl's dressing table.

News: Urban Decay Launch Gwen Stefani Palette

urban-decay-gwen-stefani-palette-review

No one creates eye shadow palettes quite like Urban Decay, so you can understand why I lost my s**t when I discovered UD had collaborated with Gwen Stefani to create its latest one!

This hella good palette features 15 new eye shadow colours; three of Gwen's favourite shades from the original Urban Decay collection and 12 brand new colours. As with all Urban Decay Palettes, Gwen's features neutral shades, jewel tones, highlighters, base colours, shimmers, sparkles and everything in between! My favourite shades include Danger, a deep metallic royal blue with a hint of sparkle, Pop, a sparkling champagne pink, Punk, a matte reddish-brown and Baby, a metallic rose.

Review: Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Matte Temper

Urban-Decay-Matte-Revolution-Lipstick-Matte-Temper-Review

The Price: £15.50

The Stockist: urbandecay.co.uk

The Shade: Orange-red

The Application: The Matte Revolution Lipstick is rich and creamy and feels like butter on the lips. This is because it's formulated with ingredients such as avocado oil, olive oil, shea butter and vitamin E, which help to nourish and protect the lips. Because of these great ingredients, the lipstick applies easily and does not drag on the lips, which is rare for a matte lipstick. As for colour, the lipstick is so highly pigmented that one coat is enough to completely cover the lips.

Weekly Worship: Urban Decay Naked Smoky

Urban Decay Naked Smoky review

Price: £38.00 / $54.00

When it comes to palettes, Urban Decay reign supreme. When the brand's Naked palette launched in 2010, the world was blessed with something it had never had before, an eye shadow palette in which every shade was wearable.

The Tuesday Tip: Narrow Your Nose

To make a large or wide nose appear smaller, all you need to do is reach for the highlighter!

After applying your foundation, swipe a light highlighter down the centre of the bridge of your nose, in the straightest line possible. The contrast of colour between the highlighter and foundation will make the sides of your nose appear darker, which will in turn make the nose appear narrower. The nose will look even smaller if you blend a tiny amount of bronzer or contour on either side of the nose. When done, be sure to set the look with translucent powder to ensure everything stays in place.

A Mum's Guide to Mother's Day Gifting

If you're anything like me, your mum is one of your best friends. However, as close as you may be to your mum, finding a good Mother's Day gift can sometimes be a little challenging. Mums have different tastes and daughters have various budgets, so there are a thousand different treats you can gift your mum.

To give you a little inspiration, my own mum has put together a Mother's Day gift guide because, well, who knows what to get a mum for Mother's Day better than a mum? So, over to Bridget...

Delilah Colour Intense Lipstick in Tango

The first recommendation is makeup or nail polish, as both are great for daughters on a budget. A single makeup product or nail polish won't cost the earth but it will gets us mums excited. There is nothing like a new lippie or gorgeous nail colour to cheer us up! I love the Colour Intense Lipstick in Tango (£24.00 delilahcosmetics.com) from new British beauty brand Delilah. The Colour Blush in Clementine (£26.00 delilahcosmetics.com) is also gorgeous and would look lovely on just about any skintone.

Understanding...Foundation Primer

Makeup artists swear by it, beauty fanatics love it…so what is foundation primer?

Foundation primer, unlike some beauty products, is quite self explanatory – it primes the skin in preparation for further make up application. However, foundation primers have many other benefits that help make them so freakin’ popular.

A foundation primer can help to:
  • Ease the application of foundation
  • Even out skin tone
  • Increase the longevity of foundation
  • Create a protective barrier between foundation and skin
  • Keep foundation in place in hot conditions
  • Prevent foundation and face powder caking

Foundation primers are usually water-based or silicone-based and, like most skincare products, there are a variety of different foundation primers available that cater for all skin types. In all honesty, most primers work well with all skin types. However I would advise those with oily skin to beware of the generic gel primers, as these often contain high amounts of silicone that cause greasy skin to look greasier!

Recommendations
  1. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light (£25.00 Boots / $36.00 Sephora)
  2. Urban Decay de-slick in a tube (£18.00 Debenhams)
  3. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Hydrating (£29.00 urbanretreat.co.uk / $33.00 Sephora)
  4. M.A.C PREP + PRIME SKIN (£21.00 maccosmetics.co.uk / $30.00 maccosmetics.com)
