NYC Beauty Tour

An NYC beauty tour is a must when visiting Manhattan; after-all, it is the world's beauty capital.

The city is home to some of the best beauty treatments, spas, stores and brands around. So, if you're a beauty obsessed bitch planning a trip to the big city, this NYC beauty tour should come in handy. It will direct you to all the best beauty spots in the city and the tour can either be completed in one day, or over a few days if you want to check out the many other fun spots in the city. Let's be honest, as amazing as beauty-related activities are, you don't want them to jeopardise trips to the MET, Central Park, High Line or Fifth Ave!

Weekly Worship: Dr Jackson's

dr-jacksons-skincare-review

Dr Jackson’s is a British apothecary-style beauty brand that puts science at the heart of natural skincare, and this is why I love it. Now I'm not a natural-skincare-or-nothing kind of girl (lolz at the thought!), but if a natural brand can deliver products that provide the same results as its synthetic counterparts, I'm interested.

pestle-mortar-superstar-retinol-night-oil-uk

The Promise: "Superstar contains a superior blend of organic oils that reduce pore size, target fine lines and even out your skin tone and texture"

The Price: £63.00 / $110.00 30ml

The Stockist: pestleandmortar.com/uk / pestleandmortar.com/us

The Application: Before I go into Superstar's application, it's important I give you a little background info on this bad boy. Its hero ingredient is HydroxyPinacolone Retinoate (HPR), the next generation of retinoid. HPR is a potent ester of retinoic acid that works similarly to prescriptive Tretinoin (Retin-A) but without the irritation. The powerful cell-communicating ingredient is formulated with Retinyl Palmitate to supercharge its beauty benefits.

Fragrances are my biggest weakness. My current collection is taking over my dresser and I waste too many hours of my life hunting for my next favourite scent. So when I learnt that Harrods was exclusively launching a new Givenchy fragrance, I had to try it.

Perricone MD & The Pre:Empt Series

perricone-md-preempt-series-review

One of my favourite skincare brands, Perricone MD, recently launched a new skincare collection and being the fan girl I am, I had to try it ASAP Rocky.

It is called the 'Pre:Empt Series' and it's designed for young-ish girls (20 - 30) that want to prevent skin damage and premature ageing. Having just turned 28, I'm the perfect candidate for this range...just (phew!).

Interview: Petra Strand | Founder Of Pixi

Pixi-Petra-Strand-Interview

Petra Strand is the founder of Pixi, the global cosmetics brand with a serious cult following. The makeup veteran created Pixi 15 years ago with an aim "to make women look themselves, only better". I had the pleasure of meeting Petra last month and ended up loving her as much as I love her products. More so because she took time out to dish the dirt on all things business and beauty...

What inspired you to work in the beauty industry? And how did your career journey begin?

I started my career as a model and I was one of those models obsessed with what the makeup artists were doing on shoots. I would want to just delve into the kit and ask so many questions…so I eventually decided to study makeup artistry in LA and my career grew from there.
