SS22 Fragrance Edit

With spring in full flow, it is now the perfect time for a fragrance re-think. Although scents aren't designed to be seasonal, there are those that naturally compliment cold climate and others that suit the sunshine. As a result, I find myself switching up my favourite fragrances throughout the year, brining in old timeless favourites, alongside new additions, as the seasons change. Below is a small edit of gorgeous scents that are perfect for spritzing this spring and summer.

Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum

Moschino know how to make a fragrance statement and the brand's Toy 2 Bubblegum is no exception. From its iconic pink teddy bear bottle, to its gorgeous playful scent, Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum is a summer season must-have.

It is a floral-fruity-oriental that features top notes of candied fruits, lemon, and bitter orange, heart notes of bubblegum, Bulgarian rose, blueberry, peach, cinnamon, peach blossom, and ginger, and base notes of musk, ambroxan, and cedar. Its super sweet scent has good projection and lasting power, especially for an eau de toilette.

Moschino Toy 2 Bubblegum was created Olivier Pescheux, the perfumer that gave the world Paco Rabanne's 1 Million, Diptyque's Fleur de Peau Eau de Parfum, and Dolce & Gabbana's The One Gold For Men. It is available at The Perfume Shop in three sizes, 30ml for £39, 50ml for £59, and 100ml for £79.

C.O Bigelow Lemon No.1999

Lemon No.1999 is an eau de parfum inspired by C.O Bigelow's bestselling Lemon Body Cream. Like the body cream, it delivers a pure, sparkling scent that instantly uplifts.

Featuring notes of lemon, lemon leaf, and musk, Lemon No.1999 delivers a light and refreshing feminine fragrance that has a touch of powdery softness, alongside a delicate sweetness. It enlivens the senses - making it a must for the summer month's ahead, or a much-needed mood-booster for cold and wet climates.

C.O Bigelow Lemon No.1999 is available in an 100ml bottle from Liberty and costs £39.

Estée Lauder Paradise Moon

Paradise Moon is a fragrance in Estée Lauder's standout Luxury Collection. It is the creation of Rodrigo Flores-Roux, the nose behind Clinique's Happy, Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino, and Elizabeth Arden's White Tea.

Paradise Moon is a leather floral scent made up of just three notes - osmanthus, labdanum, and leather. It has good projection and great lasting power, without being too strong and overpowering. When first sprayed, it reminds me of  powdery sherbet, however, when it dries down, its leather notes emerge to deliver a uniqueness that is guaranteed to get noticed.

Estée Lauder's Paradise Moon is available in two sizes at Boots, 4ml for £12, 40ml for £68 and 100ml for £130.

Jo Loves Smoked Plum & Leather

Inspired by horse riding in Montana, the Jo Loves Smoked Plum & Leather fragrance is a classic scent that really stands out.

Featuring a seductive combination of aged cognac, sweet plum liqueur, crushed cinnamon, smoked cedarwood, and soft, warm leather, the Jo Loves Smoked Plum & Leather has a distinctly raw and earthy character that compliments both men and women. It boasts good projection and even better lasting power.

Smoked Plum & Leather is available at joloves.com in two sizes, 50ml for £75 and 100ml for £115. It is also available as a home candle, costing £55 for 185g (with an approximate burn time of 37.5 hours).

La Perla Signature

La Perla's Signature is an ultra feminine, sensual fragrance that gets noticed without obnoxiously demanding attention.

It is the creation of Louise Turner, the perfumer behind Carolina Herrera's Good Girl, Maison Martin Margiela's Lazy Sunday Morning, and Mugler's Angel Nova.

Signature features top notes of violet leaves, mandarin orange, citruses, and neroli, heart notes of nectarine and jasmine sambac, and base notes of woodsy notes, vetiver, and cedar. The scent is clean, polished, classy - acting as an older sister to Marc Jacob's Daisy. It has good longevity and very impressive projection.

It is available at beautybylaperla.com in three sizes - 30ml for £57, 50ml for £83, and 90ml for £118. There is also an 100ml refill (£88), ideal for those that want to reduce their waste and re-use existing bottles.
