Review | MUGLER Angel Nova

MUGLER has added a new addition to its fragrances universe. It is Angel Nova, a new take on the iconic Angel fragrance that launched 30 years ago. I'm a huge fan of Angel, so I was excited to review this newbie.

Angel Nova, which launched in June of this year, is a woody-fruity-floral eau de parfum that contains top notes of raspberry and litchi, heart notes of damask rose, and base notes of akigalawood and benzoin.

An interesting side note - Angel Nova is the first MUGLER perfume made using an upcycling process. The damask rose used in this fragrance comes from a double extraction process. It is distilled once for the classic rose scent, and then a second time for a slightly different scent. By reusing the already-distilled rose petals for a second time around, the natural plant resource is saved (as one flower equals two extracts). This process also creates an exclusive product with the same level of quality obtained from the residues of another production via enzymatic process. Impressive, huh?

I love this scent. Although very different from the original Angel, Angel Nova is super fruity and feminine. It has a lovely sweetness too it, but is in no way sickly. Two sprays of this eau de parfum are enough to make an impact and it carries a seriously impressive lasting power.

MUGLER Angel Nova is available in four sizes - 10ml (£23), 30ml (£52), 50ml (£75), and 100ml (£94) - from John Lewis, Boots, and feelunique.com
