Review | Biossance Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial

Biossance is a clean beauty brand that launched in the UK earlier this year. I recently got my hands on the brand's Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial to review. Spoiler alert... I love it.

The Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial is an all-in-one peel, exfoliator (chemical and physical), and mask that is designed to deliver glowing skin. It also contains four great acids - glycolic, lactic, malic, and tartaric - that work alongside mineral spheres to gently exfoliate the skin to remove dead skin build up, helping liberate it from rough patches, discolouration, dullness, enlarged pores, and fine lines! Ethically and sustainably sourced Squalane - which happens to be a hero ingredient for Biossance - teams up with hyaluronic acid to deliver hydration, lock in moisture, and improve elasticity.

The Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial is designed to be left on the skin for 3 to 10 minutes. It is easy to apply and feels gentle on the skin. I always experience a tingling sensation for the first few seconds after application but that feeling seems to disappear as quickly as it comes. I always keep the mask on for 10 minutes and, when that time is up, I massage it into the skin for a minute before rinsing it away with a damp muslin cloth. Luckily it maintains its creamy consistency from application to removal, making rinsing an absolute breeze!

Every time I use this mask, my skin is left looking fresher and brighter. I also find that skincare products I use afterwards seem to apply and absorb much more effectively. Importantly, my skin does not feel dry or tight after use, which is a problem I often experience with chemical exfoliators.

The only downside to this amazing product is that I feel a generous amount is needed per use, so I can't imagine the 60ml pot providing me with more than 12 uses.

The Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Facial costs £57 and is available at cultbeauty.co.uk.
