Review: Amika Normcore Signature Shampoo & Conditioner

Amika-Normcore-Signature-Shampoo-Conditioner-review

Amika is an American haircare brand I've had my eye on for some time. I've heard amazing things about several of their products and admire the fact they keep products cruelty-free and free from sulfates, MIT, MCI, phthalates and artificial colors. I'm obsessed with the Perk Up Dry Shampoo (the only product I've tried from the brand) but really wanted to get up close and personal with a shampoo and conditioner. After all, it's my believe that a shampoo and conditioner is the ultimate test for a haircare brand. If they can't get the cleansers right, they're not worth f'ing with! I recently acquired the Amika Normcore Signature Shampoo and Conditioner and I'm falling hard...

The Normcore Signature Shampoo (£14 birchbox.co.uk) is an everyday shampoo designed to keep locks hydrated, soft and shiny. It is formulated with vitamins and antioxidants, including sea buckthorn berry and coconut acid, to provide excellent lathering and conditioning benefits. It applies easily and lathers well, rinsing away quickly - and completely - for a fuss free wash. It smells amazing and leaves hair clean, without stripping it of moisture.

Like the shampoo, the Normcore Signature Conditioner (£14 birchbox.co.uk) is an everyday conditioner that boosts hydration, softness and shine. It contains similar ingredients but also features Shea Butter that has been extracted from the nuts of the African Shea Tree. Shea butter is rich in vitamins and minerals, as well as five fatty acids which penetrate the hair’s cuticle to provide ultimate nourishment. A surprisingly small amount of conditioner is required per use and it applied evenly throughout the hair. It rinses well and leaves hair silky smooth.

Both products come in 300ml bottles and are safe for use on color-treated, Brazilian-treated, or keratin-treated hair.
