Review: Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream & Eye Serum

Murad is a brand that all of us British beauty-loving-bitches should be proud of. Innovation lies at the heart of this skincare company and the Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream and Eye Serum are perfect examples of this...

I love me a retinol and this duo contains a power-packed trio of retinols. There is a fast-acting retinoid - a retinol derivative which is a little more gentle to skin, a time-released retinol and a retinol booster, which helps the skin become more receptive to the benefits of retinol.

Starting with the Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream (£65 feelunique.com), this moisturiser has a creamy texture that feels lightweight on the skin and, importantly for a night cream, absorbs relatively quickly. After just two weeks of continual use, skin looks more firm and radiant, with fine lines reduced. I was most impressed with the night cream's improvement on pigmentation. I have patches on my skin that resemble acne graveyards, packed with small red and brown marks left over from salty pimples that wanted to cause permanent damage. However, since using this cream, these spots are lightened and less noticeable. As some of you may know, I'm a HUGE fan of chemical peels and this night cream is the perfect product to use in-between my hook ups.

As for the Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum (£65 feelunique.com), this product is equally as impressive. With a thin consistency and lightweight texture, this eye serum is easy to apply and only a tiny amount of product is required per use. It doesn't irritate the delicate eye area and - praise Jesus - doesn't cause milia. In fact, retinol has been argued to help reduce milia! Like the Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream, this Eye Serum helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and brighten the eye area. Now it doesn't eradicate dark circles... what product does!? However it transforms the eye area in ways I wasn't prepared for. I'm turning 30 in a few weeks, so you shouldn't be surprised to read that this is my new BFF.
