The Tuesday Tip: Perfect Foundation Application

applying-foundation-in-centre-of-face

Liquid foundation can arguably be applied any number of ways, however there is one method that reigns supreme. It doesn't come down to the type of foundation you wear or the tools you use; it all rests on where you begin applying it...

The best area to start applying foundation is the centre of the face, using whatever tool you prefer (fingers included!). Most people experience redness and discoloration in the centre of their face, so applying foundation to this area first will provide maximum coverage where you need it most. After applying foundation to the centre of your face, blend the remaining foundation outward towards the hair and jawline. Doing this will also helps to avoid a nasty foundation line around the jawline, as well as foundation in your hairline!

My current go-to foundation is the Givenchy Teint Couture Blurring Foundation Balm (£29.00 Debenhams / $43.00 Sephora). This foundation has a gorgeous creamy texture that glides onto the skin effortlessly and feels weightless once it sets. It provides light to medium coverage and a beautiful dewy and smooth finish to the skin. It is my favourite foundation of 2015...by far.
