My latest - and now favourite - Cire Trudon candle is Joséphine, a fitting tribute to Joséphine de Beauharnais, first wife and true love of Napoleon. Empress Josephine was famous - amongst other things - for creating an impressive botanical collection in the gardens of Malmaison, full of rare and interesting plants, brought back by Napoleon's war ships during the great age of exploration.
The Joséphine candle houses a floral-filled scent that combines Turkish rose, Egyptian jasmine and Chinese camellia, as well as bergamot, iris and sandalwood. These notes create the most gorgeous feminine scent that fills the room for hours after burning. For me, it was love at first light!
