Venomous Beauty | The Benefits of Syn-Ake

Rodial_Snake_Booster_Oil_review

Syn-Ake, also known as dipeptide diaminobutyroyl benzylamide diacetate, is one of the most famous neuromodulating peptides. It replicates the effects of Waglerin-1, a biologically active peptide found in the venom of the Temple Viper, a poisonous snake native to southeast Asia. We call it faux poison.

Syn-Ake has a low molecular weight (less than 500 Da), enabling it to penetrate through the stratum corneum and epidermis, to the deepest layers of the skin. It is also the fastest acting peptide, causing skin to feel relaxed in just a few minutes after application. Syn-Ake works by blocking the receptors on cells in the muscles and stopping them taking up the Na+ (sodium) they need to help them contract. This causes facial muscles to relax, preventing the formation of expression lines and, in turn, smoothing the skin.

Safe to use in topical applications, Syn-Ake not only provides immediate results after first use, but also offers a longer-lasting anti-ageing effect than seen in many other active ingredients.

The powerhouse ingredient is found in Rodial's Snake Booster Oil (£70 Space NK). This seriously lightweight facial oil blends across the skin easily and is quick to absorb compared with other facial oils I have used. It is designed to target and minimise expression lines and wrinkles, as well as hydrate, firm, tighten, and improve the skin.

The Snake Booster Oil is infused with Syn-Ake, helping to provide a mild freeze-like effect to the skin, visibly firming it and minimising fine lines and expression lines. It also includes pomegranate ellagic tannin to enhance collagen production, vitamin B5 to minimise wrinkles and fine lines, while moisturising, softening and soothing skin, and a moisture oil complex to reduce inflammation and protect skin from environmental damage.
