Review: Norton Park Hotel & Spa

Norton Park is a four star hotel in Winchester that not only packs a restaurant, bar, wedding venue, and spa and health center, but sits in a desirable location that provides access to some must-see locations and attractions.

You approach the hotel via a long scenic driveway which sits on 54 acres of tranquil countryside. It even has cute bunnies hoping around for your viewing pleasure. The hotel site features a historic manor house, which offers up 13 beautiful bedrooms (either a Feature Room or Manor House Room), as well as a modern wing, that holds 152 contemporary bedrooms (either a Classic Room or Superior Room).

I stayed in a classic room within the modern wing, however, although this is the most affordable room option at Norton Park, don't go thinking it's basic. The room I stayed in was stylish, equipped with all the essentials (and nice toiletries too), and super sound proof - we heard nothing. I've rarely stayed in a hotel room where I can't hear the guest next door. However the rooms are silent, even if you can her lots of noise from neighboring guests from the corridor.

Norton Park's has a restaurant on the site, The Scene, that offers up tasty food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu provides enough options to suit every taste and the prices are reasonable. The bar also offers up a selection of soft drinks, wines, beers, lagers, spirits, and even cocktails.

My favourite part of the hotel is - unsurprisingly - the health club and spa. Equipped with a pool, steam room, gym, and treatment rooms, the health club is the perfect place to get on the wellbeing bandwagon. I, of course, was only interested in the spa area and was lucky enough to experience a treatment - an uber relaxing full body massage using ESPA (one of my favourite British spa brands!).

The spa area has an extensive treatment menu, that suits all ages and genders, from a hot stone massage and pregnancy treatment, to a skin resurfacing treatment and full body scrub. Rumour has it, Norton Park are soon to be bringing in another great British spa brand, Elemis, to expand their treatment offering.

The hotel is also situated in the most ideal location. It is 20 minutes from the historic and beautiful Winchester, 90 minutes from Central London, 30 minutes from the New Forest and 30 minutes from Stonehenge. There are also lots of attractions nearby, including Marwell Zoo, Bombay Sapphire Distillery, and Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium.

The cost of staying at Norton Park is very reasonable, as you find with all of the Qhotels. Rooms start at £119 per night, including breakfast. However there are often offers available (there is currently 25% off of autumn stays!), so check the website if you're considering staying there.
