The Tuesday Tip: Reverse Hair Washing

When someone once told me about reverse hair washing, I called BS. However when TRESemmé recently launched a reverse washing collection, I knew this shit was for realsies.

Reserve washing is simply conditioning hair before shampooing it - I know, I know, it's crazy right? Reverse washing is said to be great for women with fine hair, as it provides more volume than a 'normal' wash and also enables your hair to receive the moisturising benefits of conditioner, without the greasy residue!

In the name of (beauty) research, I've been reserve washing my hair for the past few weeks and I've seen some great benefits. You can use any shampoo or conditioner, however I experimented with the TRESemmé Beauty-FULL Volume Pre-Wash Conditioner (£4.99 Boots / $4.99 Target) and TRESemmé Beauty-FULL Volume Shampoo (£4.99 Boots / $4.99 Target). Since using this duo, my fine hair is bouncy and more voluminous than normal. Even better, this new-found volume hasn't compromised my hair's health; the TRESemmé collection still keeps my hair shiny and soft.

If you want to try reverse hair washing, just wet your hair and apply conditioner, leave it in for five minutes and then rinse. Then apply shampoo, massage it into the scalp and rinse as normal.
