Father's Day Gift Guide

Father's Day is a little over a week away, so to save you time stressing about what the hell to gift, I've put together a selection of great suggestions at a variety of different price points...

Atkinsons | James

For dad's that love a good fragrance, I recommend James by Atkinsons (£158 Selfridges). This aromatic woody fragrance, from iconic British brand Atkinsons, has been created with some of the most sought after ingredients in perfumery.

James marks the first fragrance in the Atkinson collection dedicated to brand founder, James Atkinson, who ventured to London over 200 years ago to pursue his dream of creating fine fragrances.

The eau de parfum features top notes of clary sage, bergamot, finger lime, and pink pepper, middle notes of violet leaf, elemi resin, and white flowers, and base notes of vetiver, patchouli, akigalawood, and musk.

Gucci | Guilty Pour Homme

Another great fragrance to gift this Father's Day is the Gucci Guilty Pour Homme, a fresh and alluring aromatic woody fragrance.

The eau de toilette features top notes of lavender and Amalfi lemon, middle notes of African orange flower, and base notes of Virginia cedar, patchouli, and vanilla.

Guilty Pour Homme is available at perfumedirect.com in three sizes, 50ml for £57.99, 90ml for £74.99, and 150ml for £90.99.

Now if neither of my fragrance recommendations take your fancy, take a look at perfumedirect.com. The fully stocked fragrance site offers a great range of perfumes and gift sets at great prices. Scents include designer offerings from names such as Calvin Klein, Paco Rabanne, Issey Miyake, and DKNY.

Cocoba | Giant Jars

For the chocolate loving dads out there, I recommend anything from Cocoba, a Kent-based chocolate company renowned for producing irresistible chocolate and hot chocolate gifts.

The brand's much-loved Giant Jars (£25.95 cocobachocolate.com) are sure to go down well. These oversized glass jars are loaded with a selection of great chocolaty treats. There are a number of flavours to choose from, including milk chocolate buttons, salted caramel covered honeycomb, salted caramel buttons, and white and dark chocolate buttons.

Tony's Chocolonely | Small Bar Tasting Pack

Another great chocolate gift for Father's Day is the Tony's Chocolonely Small Bar Tasting Pack (£9.99 tonyschocolonely.com). Not only does this super affordable pack provide an assortment of tasty mini chocolate bars, it also supports a brand on a mission to make the chocolate industry 100% slave-free.

This colourful tasting pack features six of Tony's Chocolonely's best-selling classics, including Milk Chocolate, Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, Milk Hazelnut, and Dark Chocolate.

By choosing this gift, you are not only treating your father but also supporting Tony's Chocolonely's mission to promote fair and ethical practices in the chocolate industry. What's not to love?

BrewDog | Father’s Day Personalised Can Gift Pack

For the IPA dads out there, BrewDog is offering up the perfect present this year... a pack of very personalised cans of the brand’s best selling Punk IPA.

The Father’s Day Personalised Can Gift Pack (£26.95 brewdog.com) consists of six cans of Punk IPA, that comes with the function to add a photo and personalised message of your choice to each one. You can also choose from three different Dad-friendly packaging designs - camo, tartan and toolbox. Available for a limited time only, this personalised pack is super fun and is guaranteed to put a smile on your dad's face.

Cambria | Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay

For the wine loving dads, I recommend the Cambria Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay 2019 from Santa Maria Valley, California (£27.99 Majestic). This wine embodies the essence of the region, known for producing fresh and elegant wines due to its cool and breezy climate.

What makes this wine even more special is the history and care behind its production. Cambria, one of the first wineries in Santa Maria Valley, is a sustainably run estate overseen by owner Barbara Jackson and her all-female team, including her daughters, Katherine and Julia. This family's dedication and expertise shine through in the quality of their wines.

The 'Katherine's Vineyard' Chardonnay is regarded as the equivalent of a French Grand Cru, thanks to the complexity derived from the 50-year-old vines in the vineyard's prime location. It captures the essence of 'refrigerated sunshine' combining warm sun, cool breezes, and the influence of the nearby ocean.

This beautiful Chardonnay features notes of white peach, lemon zest, green apple, and citrus blossom. Its time spent in oak imparts toasty flavors of crème brûlée, adding depth and complexity to the wine.

Tenuta Di Arceno | Chianti Classico Riserva

For the red wine lovers, I recommend the Tenuta Di Arceno Chianti Classico Riserva (£29.00 sipster.co.uk). 2017 was described as a "one of a kind vintage" producing Sangiovese grapes with intense concentration and depth of flavour.

Aged for 10 months in French Oak, the Chianti Classico Riserva offers a captivating array of aromas. The aromas are dominated by ripe raspberry fruit and candied apples, complemented by floral notes and nutmeg. The powerful nose gives way to an elegant balance of expressive fruit flavours. You can expect the delightful tartness of cherry pie, notes of red licorice, and a touch of sweet tobacco. The wine concludes with a long and satisfying finish, revealing hints of cedar that add an extra layer of sophistication.

Tenuta Di Arceno Chianti Classico Riserva also has excellent ageing potential, allowing it to develop further with careful cellar ageing. This makes it an ideal choice for fathers who appreciate the art of wine and enjoy the anticipation of experiencing a wine's evolution over time.

CleanCo | Clean R

For dad's that are teetotal, whether temporary or permanent, I recommend checking out CleanCo. Founded by Spencer Matthews, CleanCo is British brand that creates high quality non-alcoholic alternatives that are free of sugar, sweetener, and gluten.

My latest CleanCo favourite is Clean R (£16 clean.co). With tasting notes of warming spice, golden caramel, and cayenne pepper, Clean R is an impressive take on spiced Caribbean rum. This boldly flavoured distillate is combined with rich ingredients to create a finished non-alcoholic spirit that can be enjoyed alone, with a single mixer, or used in one of many 'CleanCocktail' recipes. These delicious booze-free cocktail recipes can be found either online or in a stylist little booklet included in every CleanCo purchase.

Andrew Hunter Murray | The Sanctuary

For book worm dads that enjoy a good thriller, The Sanctuary (£9.99 Waterstones) makes for the perfect gift. Written by Andrew Hunter Murray, The Sanctuary focuses around Sanctuary Rock. It is the perfect place. A remote island, owned by a wealthy philanthropist who is building a brand-new world on the ruins of the old one. The book's main character, Ben, only came to the island to bring his fiancée Cara home. But when he arrives, he is rapidly seduced by the vision of a better way of life, as described by the charismatic and mysterious Sir John. Before long, he decides to stay. But the island holds darker secrets than he could ever have suspected. Then he learns the only route back to the mainland is about to close for good. And his own life may be in terrible danger.

Robert Harris | Selling Hitler: 40th Anniversary Special Edition

For the non-fiction loving dads, I recommend Selling Hitler: 40th Anniversary Special Edition (£10.99 Waterstones). Originally published in the 1980's, Selling Hitler, by Robert Harris, tells the fascinating and bizarre true story of the infamous Hitler Diaries scandal.

This captivating non-fiction book presents a detailed account of a remarkable forgery scandal that shook the publishing and historical communities, shedding light on the vulnerabilities and fallibility of those seeking to uncover and document history.

Wahl | Aqua Blade Wet/Dry Stubble & Beard Trimmer

For the grooming obsessed, you won't go wrong with the Wahl Aqua Blade Wet/Dry Beard Trimmer (£94.99 lookfantastic.com). This ultimate grooming tool trims, shaves, and edges with unrivalled precision and convenience.

The blade cuts 60% closer than Wahl's standard trimmer blade, delivering precision without the irritation. It's no surprise it won the 'Best For Body' award at the prestigious GQ Grooming Awards 2021. It boasts 180 minutes of cordless run time from just a 60-minute charge and, for those in a hurry, its quick 1-minute charge will give you a fantastic 3 minutes of use. It also comes with 16 guide combs for versatile styling and is suitable for wet and dry use.

With its lifetime blade guarantee and fully washable design, your dad can keep the trimmer sparking clean and can say goodbye to the hassle of buying replacement blades.

DNKY | Supersoft Modal Cotton Boxer Trunks

Nothing screams Father's Day gift quite like some new boxers. After all, men are always in need of a refresh, so why go against the grain?! If your dad likes to blend comfort and style, I recommend the DKNY Supersoft Modal Cotton Boxer Trunks (£24.99 amazon.co.uk). Constructed from a super soft modal cotton, these classic boxer trunks are both breathable and super absorbent, and provide extra comfort. They feature a reinforced pouch and a thick DKNY band.

Edifier | TWS1 Pro Wireless Earbuds

For music loving dads that are always on the go, the Edifier TWS1 Pro Wireless Earbuds (£49.99 amazon.co.uk) make for the perfect gift. Thanks to a snug fit design, moulded ergonomically to fit firmly in the ear, these wireless earbuds are comfortable for all wearers. Rainy commutes and sweaty workouts won't damage these earbuds either, thanks to their top IP65 dust- and water-proof test rating. The earbuds feature Qualcomm® TrueWireless™ Mirroring technology, Qualcomm® aptX™ Adaptive, Qualcomm® cVc™ 8.0 noise cancellation, and Touch Volume controls to deliver uninterrupted, quality sound. Finally, they boast up to 12 hours continuous playback, as well as 42 hours playtime with a 40-minute quick charge.
