Review: Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15

Full disclosure - the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 isn't new, it was released early last year. However the shade range has been extended. And now, with 43 colours to choose from, I've finally found a shade perfect for me. So the time has come to review it...

The Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF15 (£32 Bobbi Brown) is an oil-free, full coverage foundation that - as the name states - promises to last a long time... 16 hours in fact.

Starting with application, this foundation blends into the skin incredibly easily without dragging, which is great considering it's highly pigmented with a matte finish. I find that other foundations like this set quickly on the skin, creating a need to work quickly to avoid a f**ked up finish.

Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation creates an even, weightless coverage across the face that is buildable, regardless of how long ago you first applied it. Interestingly, it features a non-acnegenic formula that includes marine sugar cane and natural mineral powders that help control excess oil - great for those with acne or oily-prone skin.

As for the full coverage claim, I would say this is achievable but not with one coat alone. Instead, one coat provides a medium coverage with a beautiful skin-like finish, that, for me, sits somewhere between matte and dewy. And this coverage lasts a loooong time. Not quite the full 16 hours (for me), but it does sit perfectly for around 10 hours before starting to show signs of wear.

Finally, the shade itself is absolute perfection. Sadly for me, finding a foundation that truly matches my skin colour (which is somewhere between pink and warm) is beyond challenging and only a few foundations come close. Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation in Neutral Sand (N-030) is one of them, and it doesn't just come close, it matches exactly. 10/10.
