Grooming: MUGLER Alien Man Review

Thierry Mugler's Alien has remained a cult fragrance since its launch in 2005. It is so popular, in fact, that it's surprising the new male counterpart took over 10 years to land. MUGLER Alien Man launched in May 2018 with expectations higher than Robert Downey Jr pre-comeback. But has it lived up to the hype?!

Much like the female original, MUGLER Alien Man is elegant and sensual, but with a strong masculine edge. The complex eau de toilette features top notes of beech, dill, anise, lavender, lemon, mint and thyme, middle notes of leather, cashmere wood, osmanthus, geranium and pepper and base notes of white amber, cashmeran and vanilla. The result of this unique blend is a sexy and distinct scent that is guaranteed to get attention... your bae will hate it.

The master behind the scent is Jean-Christophe Herault, the same nose responsible for every fragrance in Mugler's luxe Les Exceptions Collection. Why Laurent Bruyere and Dominique Ropion, the duo behind the original Alien, weren't involved, I don't know.

It has good projection and great lasting power, remaining on the skin for an impressive 8-10 hours after first application. MUGLER Alien Man starts at £51 for 50ml (feelunique.com). It is also available in a 100ml, as well as a 200ml hair and body shampoo, 150ml deodorant and 75ml deodorant stick.
