Review: Illamasqua Equinox Collection

Illamasqua-Equinox-Review

I couldn't have been more excited to review the Illamasqua Equinox collection. Inspired by a "desert at night, engulfed by the starry skies and the constellations of the universe above", the mystic collection features rich broken golds, deep burnished hues and glittering pigments that suit all skin tones.

The new five-piece collection includes a gold liquid eyeliner, eyeshadow palette, red lipstick, pearlescent metallic nail polish and a pair of false eyelashes. I got my claws into three Equinox products and used two of them to create the look below. Here are my thoughts on each...

Broken Gold (£18.50) is a gold liquid eyeliner designed for creating metallic accents on the eyes. It is highly pigmented, super shimmery and stays put longer than most liquid eyeliners! It creates a gorgeous shattered gold effect that can be worn alone or layered over other shadows. Although it's designed for application around the eye area, Broken Gold also looks great on the lips...if you're feeling brave!

Celestial Palette (£34.00) combines four highly pigmented cream to powder eye shadows. The first two shades, Quell and Solace, have a beautiful satin finish. Quell is a champagne shimmer that makes the perfect highlighter and Solace is a burnished industrial grey that creates a gorgeous smoldery eye! The remaining shades, Jubilance and Orb, have a shimmering texture that is packed with very fine pieces of glitter - however neither shadow produces fallout; a miracle in my eyes! Orb is an iridescent black and Jubilance is a polished warm copper. All four shades look great alone, paired up or combined together.

Glamore Lipstick in Vega (£19.50) is my favourite product in the collection. It is, by far, one of the best red lipsticks I've discovered in a long time. As you can see below, the lipstick features an intense, deep claret red shade with a shiny satin finish. It is nourishing, easy to apply and looks striking on the lips! I'm obsessed with it in the worst way.
