Motherhood | Father's Day Gifts for New Dads

There are hundreds of dads across the country that will soon be celebrating their very first Father's Day. To make this day as special as possible, I've selected some gifts that I think would be perfect for the new dad in your life...

Before I get to gifts, I need to give cards a shout out. It's hard to find Father's Day cards for first time dads, however I found a great selection on Etsy and Not on the High Street. A lot fo the big gift and card companies sell them, however the are lacking a good range to choose from.

One of best Father’s Day gifts you can buy on behalf of your little one are books about dad. What is better than gifting a product that both a father and child can enjoy together. A great classic is I Love My Daddy by Giles Andreae, and illustrated by Emma Dodd (£6.99 amazon.co.uk). This rhyming picture book, packed with bright illustrations, is all about the fun things a dad and his child get up to, whether it's playing, cooking, singing, or snuggling. It is full of love and fun, featuring pages that can even be personalised.

Another great option is Your Baby's First Word Will Be Dada by Jimmy Fallon, and illustrated by Miguel Ordonez (£6.99 Waterstones). The book itself is very basic but its point is simple… tricking babies into saying ‘dada’ before anything else. It is a fun engaging book that features bright illustrations and animal sounds that daddy will have to try and imitate!

My final book recommendation is That's My Daddy! (£6.99 Waterstones) by Ruth Redford, and illustrated by Dan Taylor. This engaging picture book is a celebration of dads everywhere and it encourages children to identify their daddies in a fun and interactive way. Building on decision-making skills and supporting preschool development, this book is warm, inclusive, and funny, and little ones will love reading it with their daddy!

For dad's who love a bit of fun, I recommend the Men's Society New Daddy Survival Kit (£25 Amara). This kit contains all the things a new dad needs just to make it through the day. The £25 kit includes a sleep mask, ear plugs, gas mask (in the form of nose pegs), biohazard nappy bags, and restorative bath oils, all packaged in a sleek tin box.

Personalised products make for fantastic gifts to give first time fathers too. One of my favourite personalised product this year isn't so much a gift for dad, but an adorable sleepsuit that celebrates a baby's first Father's Day with their dad. Prezzybox - one of the best personalised gift sites - has a variety of personalised Father's Day baby outfits that start from £14.99. You can add daddy's name and baby's name to your outfit of choice, making it a perfect keepsake for the memory box.

Other fab personalised gifts from Prezzybox include a personalised Father's Day photo frame, Father's Day socks for first time dads, and a personalised book.
