Father's Day Gift Ideas

If your lockdown experience has been anything like mine, you probably regularly forget what day it is and miss important events... Father’s Day being one of them. If you’re without a card of gift, don’t fret, I have some fab suggestions…

First up are two products from my favourite gifting site, firebox.com. If you are ever stuck for gift ideas, I’d recommend going to Firebox – it is full of products that you’ll want to gift yourself, let alone anyone else! But understand this, you can never go to Firebox to get something specific, the things they sell, in most part, are things you probably never know existed! You go there to get the ideas. Take for example my first Father’s Day gift suggestion… the Elmer Mug² (£99 Firebox).

Put simply, the Ember Mug² is a smart mug that keeps your coffee hot. This innovative mug allows you to set an exact drinking temperature which can be maintained for 1.5 hours, so your coffee or tea is never too hot, or too cold. It contains a built-in battery which is charged via a charging coaster. A smart LED indicates when your chosen beverage has reached its perfect temperature and its Auto Sleep feature senses when to turn the mug on and off. The temperature ranges from 120°F - 145°F (50°C - 62.5 °C) and it is selected on the mug or with the Ember app.

A more affordable and fun Firebox option is the ‘F*ck That's Hot!’ cookbook (£19.99 firebox.com). You can probably guess the type of recipes you’re going to get – spicy, spicy, spicy. Described as the perfect cookbook for those who carry around a bottle of Sriracha or Tabasco 24/7, this book is full of 60 hot n' spicy recipes. It is written by influential food blogger and former MasterChef contestant, Billy Law. Recipes include Nashville hot chicken, ghost pepper kimchi, sriracha buttered shrimp, chicken vindaloo, Thai beef salad with bird’s eye dressing, and Sichuan dan-dan noodles.

For the sporty dads that love music, I recommend Urbanista Athens, wireless sports headphones that tick all the boxes. Athens are the perfect headphones for the sporty guys who hit the gym, track, or trails. They have crystal-clear, bass orientated sound designed specifically for sport. They are waterproof, weigh just five grams, have 32 hours of total playtime, and come with a charging case that provides three additional full-charges, each lasting up to eight hours. Bluetooth connection to your iOS or Android device means seamless pairing and the ability to access your voice control assistant at the touch of a button. Whilst on the go, the built-in microphone allows you to make or receive stereo phone calls, adjust the volume, play, stop, and skip tracks.

If that’s not impressive enough, these headphones enable you to use the left or right earbud independently, whilst still being able to make and receive calls with the built-in microphone in each ear-bud. For convenience, you can also independently charge the ear-bud not in use. Available in Midnight Black (Black), Urbanista Athens are currently available for £89.25 (from £199) at amazon.co.uk.

For the whiskey loving dads out there, there is always Jack Daniel’s Gentleman Jack. Inspired by the original gentleman distiller, Mr. Jack Daniel himself, this exceptionally smooth Tennessee whiskey is loved by many a man. What makes it so different from the original Jack Daniels is that it is mellowed through Jack Daniel’s signature sugar maple charcoal not once, but twice. It is this second charcoal mellowing that distinguishes it from the rest, creating a well-rounded, easy-drinking whiskey with exceptional smoothness. With balanced flavours of oak, vanilla, and caramel, the double-mellowed spirit is perfect for bourbon drinkers that want something a little different. Usually £35, Gentleman Jack is currently available at Tesco for just £20.

For the grooming guys, I recommend the Kielh’s Men’s Starter Set. This set contains all the quality skincare essentials needed for the guys on-the-go. It includes the Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub, Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream, Facial Fuel Energizing Moisture Treatment, and Ultimate Man Body Scrub Soap. If the dad you are gifting already has his skincare favourites, you could even put together a selection of his favourites and gift them in a suave wash bag. I love the ‘Handsome Devils Club’ wash bag available at Rocket St George for just £10.

For the dad’s who love a good pamper (we know they’re out there), the Lush Snappy gift set couldn’t be more perfect. It features a Dirty Bath Bomb, Avobath Bath Bomb, and Dirty Springwash Shower Gel, packaged in a fun reusable alligator box. You just have to make sure you gift him the time to enjoy those baths!

For the fragrance fans, I recommend gifting Tommy Hilfiger IMPACT, a new eau de toilette that features notes of citrus, smoky aromatics, and a trio of precious woods, including the powerful hold of Akigalawood®, a spicy, woody extract of patchouli.
And for those with a smaller budget, who are gifting a dad with a serious sweet tooth, you can never go wrong with Haribo. There isn’t a man alive that doesn’t love Haribo and the famous sweet brand offers up a 380g gift box for just £7.95 (amazon.co.uk). Other great options for those with smaller budgets include a personalised Toblerone bar (£12.99 prezzybox.com), Smart Phone Projector (£17.99 prezzybox.com), Instant Air Hockey (£9.99 prezzybox.com), and a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife (£16 amazon.co.uk).

Other great options for those with big budgets include a pair of UGG Men’s Scuff Slippers (£80 amara.com), a Larsson & Jennings watch (from £179 larssonjennings.com), Helly Hansen Activewear (hellyhansen.com), and a classic Barbour Waxed Jacket (from £169 John Lewis).
