Baby | Best Skincare Brands

With Ezra turning two in a couple of months, it's safe to say we've tested a large number of baby skincare brands and products - from gentle body washes and nappy creams, to lotions and shampoos!

So I decided it was time to share some of our favourite brands and the products that have earned a place in Ezra's skincare cabinet.

Petit Jovial

Petit Jovial is a British brand that creates pure and natural skincare for babies. The brand was born after founder Tania Veignat was unable to find - in Paris - any skincare products that were gentle enough for her son's sensitive skin. All Petit Jovial products are handmade in England, using organic ingredients wherever possible. There are currently three products in the range - the Body & Massage Scalp Oil, Nourishing Bath Oil, and Nourishing Multi-Purpose Balm for Face & Body.

Prices range from £23 to £26 and the brand is currently only available at petitjovial.com.

Our favourite products include the Body & Scalp Massage Oil and the Nourishing Balm. The Body & Scalp Massage Oil is a lightly scented oil that feels incredibly lightweight on Ezra's skin. It massages across Ezra's skin effortlessly, fully absorbing within a minute. The Nourishing Balm is a multi purpose baby product that helps treat everything from nappy rash to dry patches. It can also be used as a nipple cream or cleanser if mama is out of her own skincare staples! It has a beautiful texture that is lovely to apply and carries a gorgeous lavender and camomile scent. We keep this on the nappy changing unit as our go-to for rashes and dry patches.

MooGoo

MooGoo is a family owned Australian brand that creates over 40 natural products to help treat a number of different skin and scalp concerns. Interestingly the brand took its inspiration from a wonder paste that repairs the dry and cracked udders of a cow! The brand has a gorgeous baby range, made up of eight products that tick a number of boxes - from sunscreen and hand sanitiser, to moisturisers for dry skin.

Prices range from £7 to £16 and the brand is available at amazon.co.uk, moogooskincare.co.uk, and Holland & Barrett.

Our favourite MooGoo product is the Mini Moo Bubbly Wash. It is kind to Ezra's sensitive skin, leaves it soft and nourished, and creates some serious bubbles. It is a bath time staple for us!

Kiehl's

Now you know baby skincare products are going to be good when they are come from one of the world's best skincare brands. Although the Kiehl's baby collection is small (four products to date), it provides everything you need to meet a baby's basic skincare needs. Products include the Gentle Hair & Body Wash, Nurturing Oil for Mom & Baby, Mom & Baby Nurturing Baby Cream, and Baby Lip Balm.

Prices range from £10 to £21 and the brand is available at standalone stores nationwide, as well as John Lewis and feelunique.com.

Our favourite products include the Nurturing Baby Cream for Face & Body and the Gentle Hair & Body Wash. The Nurturing Baby Cream for Face & Body is a beautifully rich cream that really goes a long way - such little product is required that it will take a while to finish this 200ml tube. The cream itself is scentless, it takes just seconds to fully absorb, and it keeps Ezra's skin super soft and supple. The Gentle Hair & Body Wash uses a tear-free formula that has the most lovely subtle scent. It cleanses Ezra's skin effectively, rinses away with ease, and can be used on even the most sensitive of skins.

Mustela

Mustela has to be the most famous baby skincare brand. After all, the French brand has been treating babies skin for almost 70 years! Mustela is always researching the best formulations for delicate skin and it uses natural ingredients as a priority.

The Mustela baby range is huge. It contains over 40 products that cover everything from gentle soaps and foam shampoos, to no-rinse cleansing waters and balms. They even have an adorable baby fragrance that is beyond cute!

Prices range from £4.99 to £18.50 and the brand is available at escentual.com, amazon.co.uk, and feelunique.com.

Our favourite products include the Gentle Cleansing Gel and the Body Lotion. The Gentle Cleansing Gel is a foaming cleanser that can be used on the hair and body. It is gentle on Ezra's skin and scalp, it rinses away easily, it is tear-free, and it nourishes Ezra's skin to avoid post-bath dryness. It smells lovely too. The Body Lotion is a lightweight cream that instantly hydrates Ezra's skin. It is easy to apply and fully absorbs in just a few minutes. It is formulated with Avocado Perseose, Mustela's patented active ingredient that is extracted from the heart of Fuerte avocados. It is a deeply nourishing ingredient that works in symbiosis with baby’s skin, protecting it from birth.

Burt's Bees

Burt's Bees is the famous beauty brand born out of Burt Shavitz's honey business. The honey man teamed up with friend Roxanne Quimby in the early 80s to create candles and lip balms using his famous local honey. From there, the brand grew into the huge beauty brand we know and love today! Amongst the large number of skincare and makeup products the brand produces, there is a special range just for babies. There are seven Burt's Bees baby products, ranging from nappy ointment and baby oil, to baby shampoo. There is also a body butter and body oil for the mamas.

Prices range from £8 to £11 and the brand is available at burtsbees.co.uk, John Lewis, and Boots.

Our favourite products include the Diaper Ointment and Nourishing Baby Oil. The Diaper Ointment is an 100% natural cream that not only soothes and treats nappy rash and sore bottoms, but also provides a protective barrier to prevent future issues. It is scentless, easy to apply, and helps to nourish Ezra's skin, as well as protect and treat it. The Nourishing Baby Oil is a lightweight moisturiser that is packed with apricot and grapeseed oil to nourish and protect the skin. It massages over Ezra's skin quickly and easily, absorbs fully in under a minute, and has a lovely subtle honey scent.
