Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day is fast approaching, so to save you time in planning what the hell to gift, I've put together a selection of great suggestions. You're welcome.

For those with book-loving mums, I recommend The Ophelia Girls (£8.99 Waterstones). Written by Jane Healey, the award winning author behind The Animals at Lockwood Manor, The Ophelia Girls is an immersive and mesmerising book that explores womanhood and everything that comes with it. It is a dual timeline adult novel that is set between two fateful summers. A mother’s secret past and her daughter’s present collide to create a visceral, heady exploration of illicit desire, infatuation, and the perils and power of being a young woman.

For those working with a generous budget, a gorgeous fragrance is a guaranteed winner. As for which scent to select, I suggest anything from Estée Lauder's Luxury Collection. The Luxury Collection is a beautiful fragrance collection made up of eight extraordinary fragrances, each designed to transport your mind and senses to enchanted and undiscovered places. One of my favourite fragrances in the collection is Paradise Moon (£68 Boots), a leather floral scent made up of just three notes - osmanthus, labdanum, and leather. It has good projection, great lasting power, and a uniqueness that is guaranteed to get noticed.

For those with mothers who prefer home fragrances, I recommend Olivia's Haven Downhill Forest Candle. This scented candle is inspired by Downhill Forest, an area of natural beauty located on the North Coast of Northern Ireland. Olivia created this candle to bring the aroma of the forest to life with the scent combination of wood, fern, and moss. As with all Olivia's Haven candles, Downhill Forest (£29 olivias-haven.co.uk) is made with natural, sustainably sourced soy wax and it burns slowly and cleanly, providing hours of beautiful fragrance.

For those on a budget, a delicious box of chocolates will make for the perfect gift. After all, what mum doesn't like chocolate?! I recommend Lily O’Brien’s The Desserts Collection (£6 Tesco) as it tastes amazing, costs just £6 and is available from most major supermarkets. The 18-piece box features six iconic dessert recipes, including classics like Crème Brûlée and Banoffee Pie.

For those with tea-obsessed mothers, I recommend just about anything from T2. The Australian tea brand offers a huge variety of teawares and teas, ranging from the expected classics (i.e. English Breakfast and Earl Grey) to the seriously unique (i.e Apple Crumble and Mango Mint). A personal favourite is the limited edition Banana Fritter (£16 t2tea.com). Featuring the taste of sweet, ripe bananas, thick luxurious, crispy batter, with undertones of nuts and golden syrup, this blend is super indulgent (and contains zero calories).

My final gift recommendation is perfect for mums that love to pamper themselves. It is the Happy Mother's Day gift set from Lush (£50 Lush). This lovely set features seven bath and body beauties packaged in a gorgeous box and tied up with a Happy Mothers Day Knot Wrap. The box includes the Lovely Hand Balm (50g), Buzzy Mum Soap (100g), Mimosa Shower Gel (120g), Jasmine Bath Bomb, Atom Heart Mother Bath Bomb, Besties Bubble Bar, and The Elephant In The Tea Room Bath Bomb.
