Review | Dr Jackson's Day Cream SPF30

Dr Jackson's Day Cream SPF30 is an impressive staple skincare product designed to protect the skin, whilst also providing hydration, comfort, and anti-ageing benefits.

The cream, that is packaged in the most gorgeous apothecary-style pot, contains some impressive natural ingredients. Moisture-rich marula seed oil and shea fruit butter hydrate the skin, while kigelia fruit extract calms and soothes the skin, and treats pigmentation. Baobab seed oil is also included, encouraging regeneration and promoting elasticity.

This SPF is free of oxybenzone and octinoxate, two chemicals associated with hormone disruption and the bleaching of coral reefs. The formula in general is free from petroleum-derived paraffin, polyacrylamide, environmentally damaging EDTA, the preservative BHT, and dimethicone. Like all products in the Dr Jackson's range, the Day Cream is vegan and not tested on animals.

The Day Cream has a rich creamy texture that feels surprisingly lightweight on the skin. When first applied, the cream - like many other SPFs - leaves a chalky film on the skin. However, after just a few seconds of working it in, the cream becomes transparent and blends into the skin perfectly, leaving nothing behind. This, for me, is one of this SPF's biggest selling points. So many sunscreens on the market leave a greasy film on the skin, that finding one that doesn't is a real benefit.

As for its results, the cream does a great job at keeping my skin well moisturised and comfortable. I also find it calms my skin when it is irritated. It makes for a great staple skincare product, with its only limitation being the pot - things get a little fiddly when the cream starts coming to an end!

Dr Jackson's Day Cream cost £80 and is available at drjackson.co.uk and Space NK.
