Weekly Worship: Crabtree & Evelyn & Odin

Black Absinthe Eau de Cologne Review

Price: £45.00 / $59.00 100ml
The Black Absinthe Eau de Cologne is the new male fragrance from Crabtree & Evelyn. Although designed for men, I would place this fragrance firmly in the unisex category; I have to as it's fast become my favourite fragrance.

Black Absinthe contains top notes of absinthe, star anise, fennel flower, cardamom and bergamot and middle notes of artemisia, liquorice, French lavender and orange blossom. It is finished with base notes of tonka, vetiver, sandalwood, oak wood and musk.

The scent is on the strong side when first applied, however, after giving it time to settle, you're left with a gorgeous subtle scent that is fresh and sensual.

Odin Efflora Review

Odin, New York's favourite menswear boutique and unisex fragrance brand, has released The White Line, a fragrance collection born from a desire to explore the brand's feminine side. The collection includes a trio of fragrances which explore the clean, modern deconstruction of florals. Impressively, each fragrance is inspired by every essence of a flower, from stem and leaves, to blossom and bouquet.

I've experienced every fragrance in this collection and they are each beautiful in their own right. However my absolute favourite is Efflora. It contains top notes of algerian tangerine, neroli blossom and turkish rose oil and middle notes of geranium, lavender, grapefruit flower and sambac absolute. It is finished with base notes of oakwood absolute, vetiver, patchouli, white moss and sandalwood.

Efflora smells absolutely amazing - like springtime in a bottle - and, though part of the florals collection, this citrusy scent smells as good on men as it does on women. The fragrance is strong and powerful, remaining on the skin long after application!
