He created a name for himself when he started researching ways to prevent and reverse the negative effects of chronic and sub-clinical inflammation - which he argued was the cause of aging and disease. It was Perricone’s inflammation theory that inspired him to create one of my all-time favourite skincare brands. As a trained skin doctor, Perricone wanted to create products based on science that would truly preform for the consumer (no bullshit beauty, basically). And to do this, he spent two decades studying which antioxidants had the greatest powers when applied to skin. From his findings came dozens of US and international scientific patents for the treatment of skin and systemic disease, for reversing and preventing damage to skin caused by factors such as age, the sun, the environment, and hormonal changes. The final result was the series of advanced anti-aging topical treatments that we know (and love) today.
